K9 Manners and More Agility

Agility

Run, jump, climb, zoom through tunnels – that’s what agility is all about. In the sport of dog agility, the handler directs their dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. The Agility 1, 2, and 3 Foundations courses teach teamwork, focus, handling, and agility obstacles in a safe and positive manner.

We have several agility classes for different levels of experience. For prerequisites and detailed description please click on the links below.

Please note, class sizes are limited and preference will be given to K9 Manners & More COEDs and Model Citizens graduates.

Other advanced agility classes are available. Please speak with your instructor or call our office for more information.

Scent Work

Dogs explore their world through their noses. We can work with our dogs to identify specific smells and let us know when they find them. We use specific target odors in this class and dogs learn to search interiors, exteriors, and containers.

When introduction classes open for this fun partnership with your dog, they will be posted here.

There are advanced/competition classes ongoing for dogs that are “on odor”.

K9 Manners and More Dock Diving

Swim Class for Beginners

Not all dogs are natural swimmers. They need a safe introduction to swimming, and experience to gain confidence in the water. If your dog is new to the pool this is the class for you. If your dog swims or plays in natural bodies of water but hasn’t been in a pool (or isn’t comfortable in a pool), this is your class. This class will be an introduction to swimming in our dock jumping competition-standard pool. Once your dog is confidently swimming, you will be able to sign up for a dock diving class.

This is a single one-hour class. There are 4 dogs per class and the fee is $30.00

Dock Diving - Mixed Levels

Once dogs are confident swimmers and are readily coming off the ramp, they are ready to do a Dock Diving class. In this mixed-levels class dogs are taking their first jumps off the dock, are learning technique, or are actively diving and working on improving performance.

This is a single one-hour class and you may enroll in more than one at a time. There are 5 dogs per class and the fee per class is $30

K9 Manners and More Hydro Dash

Hydro-Dash

HD is a speed game for dogs to jump off the dock, swim to the end of the pool and grab a bumper which is suspended just above the water. To take a Hydro Dash class, dogs must be actively jumping from the dock.

This is a single one-hour class. There are 5 dogs per class and the fee per class is $30

Air Retrieve

Air Retrieve is a discipline where dogs jump from the dock and dislodge a bumper that is suspended about 4 feet above the water. While the toy does not go any higher, the rig moves the bumper farther away from the dock. To take an Air Retrieve class, dogs must be actively jumping from the dock.

This is a single one-hour class. There are 5 dogs per class and the fee per class is $30
